DESCRIPTION:Grants Are Available for Belmont Artists\nDEADLINE: Organizations\, schools\, and individuals with creative ideas for cultural\, scientific and technological activities and events in Belmont are invited to apply for grants from the Belmont Cultural Council (BCC). Grant applications are being accepted now and must be postmarked by October 15 to be considered for the 2016 funding cycle. \nThe Massachusetts Cultural Council announced its 2016 spending plan which will award $12 million to local non-profit cultural organizations. The Belmont Local Cultural Council (LCC) was awarded $5\,000 for the 2016 fiscal period. Recent Belmont grants have included Belmont World Film\, a multi-cultural fair\, the Winslow Homer exhibit at the Belmont Woman’s Club and a print making workshop at Habitat. \nThe Belmont Cultural Council will be holding a grant writing workshop for interested persons on Wednesday\, September 23\, from 7-9pm at the Belmont Public Library. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation\, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts\, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, a state agency\, which then allocates funds to each community.
