DESCRIPTION:Six Conversations\n\n\n\n\n\nBAA member\, Minna Rothman\, is one of the six participating artists in this colorful\, textural exhibit at the Belmont Gallery of Art. There will be a few events of interest about the exhibit When Fiber Speaks: Six Conversations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNovember 5\, 1 pm – 3 pm\, Reception \n\n\n\nSunday\, December 10\, 1 pm – 4 pm\, Artists’ Talk\n\n\n\nAll six participating artists will talk about their art: Karen McCarthy\, Kristina Goransson\, Minna Rothman\, Julia Mitchell\, Barbara Levine\, and Louise Abbott. Free time for chatting with individual artists will follow slide presentations; it would be good to arrive early if you can. \n\n\n\nSaturday\, December 16\, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm\, How to Use Stencils on Fabric and Paper\n\n\n\nKaren will be offering a free demonstration. She will have some supplies on hand for people to try sampling these fun techniques\, and children 8 and over are invited to give it a whirl as well!  \n\n\n\nWeek of December 10\, Interview\n\n\n\nAn interview with Kristina Goransson\, Minna Rothman\, and Karen McCarthy will air at Museum Open House on NewTV the week of December 10. DESCRIPTION:Anne Katzeff is participating in this year’s open studios in Arlington.\n\n\n\nJoin the Arlington Center for the Arts (ACA) for our 25th Annual Arlington Open Studios happening on SUNDAY\, November 12\, 2023 (Important: Please note the change in day from our usual Saturday event\, to accommodate the Veteran’s Day holiday). This year’s event will showcase and support over 70 local artists in our community\, with opportunities to purchase work\, meet artists\, and celebrate creativity in the heart of Arlington. \n\n\n\n\nI always enjoy this fun\, festive event! My most recent work will be on display. I’ve got a real variety of flora\, animals\, and landscapes to share with you\, in pastels and watercolors. You may recognize local and favorite spots. She teaches painting classes at The Contemporary Austin and online at jennygranberry.com. In her home studio she creates watercolor paintings depicting objects\, architecture and figures in vague spaces. She also maintains an active sketchbook practice documenting her life with drawings and illustrations in a variety of media. Jenny is a member of Golden’s Working Artist Program where she gives lecture demonstrations on Golden Acrylics and QoR Watercolors. \n\n\n\nQoR lecture description\n\n\n\n\nGet a comprehensive tour of QoR\, an amazing line of transparent watercolor with innovative technology at its core. Learn about High Flow and Fluid Acrylics\, and a range of watercolor effect application techniques. See hands-on demonstrations of a wide range of grounds and substrates\, including materials that allow watercolor over nontraditional substrates like wood and Plexiglas. Additionally\, we’ll explore monoprinting techniques\, ways to incorporate drawing and a variety of mixed media applications.”
