DESCRIPTION:Ian Todreas is asking for help spreading the word about a project he initiated:\n“Diving into a creative pursuit is a great way to fight anxiety\, depression\, and loneliness while having fun and opening up new avenues to connect with others. Do you know any Belmont seniors who are feeling a bit bored\, isolated\, or in need of a new pursuit? Using the honorarium I received from the BAA\, for the transformer box project\, I am sponsoring a new pilot initiative called “Paint Pals.” I’m offering a free set of watercolor paints\, a brush\, and paper to any Belmont senior along with an hour of guidance and instruction via Zoom or outside socially distant\, fully masked. No prior art experience necessary–just a\nwillingness to play with and explore this wonderful medium. If any BAA member would like to step in\, your participation is more than welcome. DESCRIPTION:“How to Make Videos of Your Artwork”\n\n7:00 – 9:00 pm\, with time to socialize and connect 6:45 – 7:00\, and after 9:00\n\nIs it possible that this is the last BAA meeting for the year? We made it! There are two vey exciting programs coming up. Thanks to Dari\, we will end the year with a presentation topic of interest to many of you\, and start the new year with one that is equally exciting – you’ll hear the details for the January meeting next week or in another email.\n\nThe highlight of the December meeting will be a presentation by Meredith Holch and Frédérique Rigoulot – see below for details. We’ll send out a reminder with an agenda for the business portion of the meeting\, but you must RSVP by emailing us\, Wednesday\, December 16th\, in order to get the zoom link for this meeting.\n\nFredérique Rigoulot and Meredith Holch of the Belmont Media Center will present various techniques for using a cell phone to make videos of 2D and 3D artwork. They will go over technical basics such as camera settings\, lighting set-up\, and various ways to stabilize the camera. They will also consider production choices like the use of close-ups for detail shots\, shooting from different angles\, and camera moves. They will also cover how to shoot time-lapse video of an artwork-in-process. The style of video ultimately depends on its intended use\, whether for social media\, website\, etc. Finally\, they will touch on editing and suggest various editing and time-lapse apps.
