DESCRIPTION:Will cover how to develop a strategy for identifying and reaching your targeted audience- the people who are buying your work or the people you want to sell to. Focusing your brand and connecting with the right audience is more than half the battle when it comes to pricing\, product\, and promoting. Through discussion and exercises\, participants will gain better insight into who their audience is or who their audience should be.. \nLead by Anna Koon\, painter\, member and Educator for Jamaica Plain Arts Council. Anna is Director of the “Focusing Series” workshops. DESCRIPTION:Grants Are Available for Belmont Artists\nDEADLINE: Organizations\, schools\, and individuals with creative ideas for cultural\, scientific and technological activities and events in Belmont are invited to apply for grants from the Belmont Cultural Council (BCC). Grant applications are being accepted now and must be postmarked by October 15 to be considered for the 2016 funding cycle. \nGrant Writing Workshop\nThe Belmont Cultural Council will be holding a grant writing workshop for interested persons on Wednesday\, September 23\, from 7-9pm at the Belmont Public Library. Contact Juliet Jenkins at jerbly@yahoo.com for more information about the workshop. \nFor grant application forms\, specific guidelines\, and more on the Belmont Cultural Council\, visit www.mass-culture.org/Belmont or by contacting Laurie Gianotti\, the BCC chair at laurie2276@comcast.net. \nThe BCC is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council\, a state agency\, which then allocates funds to each community.

DESCRIPTION:It’s Our 10th Anniversary!\nThat’s right\, the Belmont Gallery of Art opened its doors to the public for the very first time in July 2005. In the years that followed\, we mounted over 60 unique\, compelling\, inspirational exhibits showcasing the talents of several hundred local and regional artists from New England and beyond. The BGA has also enlightened and entertained thousands of visitors\, and served as an anchor and outlet for Belmont’s own prodigious community of artists. Now\, that’s something to celebrate! \nTo mark this extraordinary milestone\, the BGA plans a 10th Anniversary Show — fittingly entitled “Celebrate!” — to honor the work of the many artists who made our first ten years a rousing success.
