SUMMARY:Gallery Six Thirteen Opening Show - Call for Artists! Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Gallery Six Thirteen invites artists to submit 1-3 original works of art to our opening group exhibition entitled “REFUGE: A Celebration of International and Immigrant Art.” \n© Lucio Ranucci\nWe are looking for works of art reflective of the profound experiences of immigrants and/or travel overseas. The goal of this exhibit is to celebrate the enrichment our community gains from a connected world and to show support for our talented and inspiring immigrants and curious travelers. We are seeking artists whose international experiences have had a significant impact on them personally\, professionally\, socially\, philosophically\, and/or culturally.\n​\nWork submitted must be no larger than 4 feet by 3 feet with a preference for smaller works of art (24″ x 24″ or smaller) to allow us to include as many artists as possible. \nThe deadline for submission will be February 20\, 2017 at 12pm EST and selected artists will be announced by February 28\, 2017. The exhibition will open March 11\, 2017 at Gallery Six Thirteen in Belmont Center at 68 Leonard St\, Belmont\, MA 02478 (gallery is currently under renovation). Artists must deliver READY TO HANG artwork to the Gallery by March 4\, 2017. Further timing/details for the drop off of artwork will be communicated to those selected for the show. Fine art such as: photography\, painting\, drawing\, and sculpture may be submitted for consideration. \nPlease email all submissions to: karla-at-gallerysixthirteen-dot-com. \nSubmissions MUST include: artist name\, title\, artwork dimensions (height x width x depth)\, medium\, weight (if possible\, esp larger works)\, and a short (approximately 300 word) description of the art and its meaning/purpose\, and the artist website (if published).
