BIO
I am a Belmontian whose art training comes from France where I was born. My work has been exhibited and sold in Asia, North and South America, Australia and Europe. I have had a substantial clientele for portraits, of children, pets, and homes, since age 10.
During my long career I have sold my works through galleries and directly to a clientele often composed of people who attended my Learning and Training Workshops. Those workshops made extensive use of my medical and educational degrees, presenting my own continuously produced artwork as tools of learning and healing.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a Belmont artist who has been exhibiting and selling her works in Asia, North and South America, Australia and Europe. I have had a substantial clientele for commissions of portraits, of adults, children, their pets, and homes. I have painted since age 10. (It paid for all my studies!)
My works are showing the essence, the soul, the inner portrait of what I depict.
I have been doing watercolors and gouache (often making my own paint) as well as color pencils works. Before the existence of digital photography I also did color and black and white film photography.
Nowadays, with the advances in digital photography, I have been creating mixed graphic works, blending the media I worked with before with my own digital graphic photography art, and, in some cases, with poetry.
My art training comes from France where I was born. My mother, who was a journalist associated with UNESCO, was also a painter. She introduced me to famous painters and photographers of her time in France, a few being her masters. My father was the physician of many of these people. I retain wonderful memories of going to those ateliers. The artists loved children. They always taught me and encouraged me. Sometimes they even exchanged some of my work for a small one of theirs. Except for one or two pieces, I have no idea where some of the stuff is now because these people didn’t “act famous”…I was only a child made proud of her art, who received the best hands-on training, beyond any art school. However, of course, I took Art courses every semester throughout high school and college. Art has been my constant companion as far back as I can remember. It has allowed me to live through some very tough times, and to perceive the world in a different light.
During my long career my work was sold through galleries and directly to a clientele often composed of people attending my Training Workshops. Those workshops made extensive use of my medical and educational degrees I often used my own continuously produced artwork as tools of teaching and healing.
I am devoting the rest of my life to the creation of works which, steeped in past and present real world, bring peace, well-being and healing to the viewer.
