Belmont Art Association Presents Four Lectures and Workshops This Spring and Fall
The Belmont Art Association, supported by the Belmont Cultural Council, is offering a new series of 4 art events.
(1) WOODCARVING WORKSHOP
Veteran teacher and woodworker, Steve Kaplan, will be leading this workshop, assisted by artist and teacher John Norton (BAA member). All supplies are provided. It is limited to 12 participants, age 16 and older.
WHEN: Saturday, April 7, from 9am-12pm
WHERE: Belmont Hill School’s Robsham Arts Center
COST: The class is free for Belmont Art Association members, and $5 for others
RESERVATION REQUIRED: Reservation requests should be emailed to John Norton at jcnorton47@gmail.com with WOODWORKING WORKSHOP as the subject.
(2) CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING WORKSHOP
The Belmont Art Association, thanks to a grant from the Belmont Cultural Council, is offering a workshop on Chinese brush painting by the master landscape painter Ma Qingxion, assisted by Linda Salter (BAA member), Japanese brush painter.
WHEN: Saturday, May 12, 1:30 to 4:30
WHERE: Belmont Public Library’s Assembly Room
COST: Free
Everyone is invited to attend the free talk and demonstration. Afterwards, attendees 16 years old and up will be invited to try their hand at painting. All supplies will be provided. If you plan to paint, please bring an apron.
