Irene was born in Brooklyn and lived there until age 16. She attended Queens College and then came to Boston.
She holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University and was a full professor at Northeastern University. She has been engaged in art since the 1970’s when she began painting in watercolor, adding sculpture since the 1980’s and printmaking since the 1990’s. Irene has exhibited widely in the Boston area and has been a long-time member of the Cambridge Art Association, the Concord Art Association, and New England Sculptors. She has been a resident of Belmont, MA for over 40 years.
