Call for Artists “Savino’s Artist of the Month”

Belmont Art Association announces

 “Savino’s BAA Artist of the Month” Continuing Exhibit

449 Common Street, Belmont, MA  02478

April 4 – May 4, 2014

 

Eligibility: Paid members of Belmont Art Association as of 3/22/2014.  Exhibits in future months will consider all paid members of the BAA.  (To become a paid member, go to belmontart.org/join)

 

Entries of Original 2D artwork:

• Four works will be displayed, each may be a maximum of 16”x 20” including frame.

•All works must be suitably prepared for hanging (dry, suitably framed or finished on visible sides with sturdy wire across the back – no saw tooth hangers or single loops).

• Application by email to BOTH christine_chang@yahoo.com  and pford@fas.harvard.edu

• State the following:

–       name, address, phone,

–       for each artwork:  title, medium and measurement of entire artwork including frame.

–       digital jpg images named with artist’s last name and brief title or number.

• The jurors will also consider all artwork for the following months.

 

Fees: $10 for the accepted artist for one month exhibition.

 

Jurors: Tom Cutrone, owner of Savinos and BAA members Christine Chang and Patrick Ford;  The choice of artist and works will be based on their subjective tastes.

 

Key Dates: 

Sunday 3/30/14: Registration Deadline for April exhibit:  Send email application and digital jpg images to christine_chang@yahoo.com  and pford@fas.harvard.edu

Thursday, 4/3/14:  Notification of acceptance (by email).

Friday 4/4 or 4/5/15: Preferable delivery of artwork to coincide with “Uncommon Finds” reception.

Entries after these dates will be considered for future months.

 

Sales: Savino’s will handle any sales and keep a 25% commission.

 

Liability: While Savino’s endeavors to take the utmost care in handling all artworks, neither the BAA, nor Savinos and its employees accepts liability for the theft of or damage to artworks incurred in transit or while in the Restaurant’s custody, including, but not limited to, damage or loss due to vandalism, faulty mounting, framing or wiring.  In submitting artwork for exhibition in Savinos, the Artist acknowledges this and releases the parties mentioned from any such liability.
